Easterseals Passages Adds Alvarez as Program Director | Easterseals Arc of Northeast Indiana

Columbia City, Indiana — Easterseals Passages has named Bianca Alvarez as director of programs. In the newly created position, she will oversee programs and services delivered at the Creative Learning Center on Oak Street as well as in the community.

Alvarez brings 13 years of human services experience to her role at Easterseals Passages, including work as a family service caseworker for Head Start of Kosciusko County, an employment specialist for Cardinal Services, a youth treatment specialist for Pierceton Woods Academy, and a membership recruiter for Girl Scouts of Northern Indiana-Michigan.

“My passion is advocating for people so that they can achieve their aspirations and have a good quality of life,” Alvarez said. “In my personal opinion, advocacy is our highest calling as members of society; we need to ensure that those around us are taken care of. This is why I believe in Easterseals’ mission, because we advocate for people to have a good quality of life while offering the tools and programs to enrich their everyday lives.”

Alvarez will work alongside Maria Tippmann-Nancarrow, community relations and development director for Easterseals Passages. Alvarez will focus on operations and supervising direct support staff, while Tippmann will focus on building relationships with community partners and donors. Together, they will ensure that Easterseals Passage continues to meet the needs of people with disabilities in Whitley County.
