Rachel Pemberton has been named executive director of Easterseals Passages.
Pemberton has been with Easterseals Arc of Northeast Indiana in various roles for more than four years, starting as a Direct Support Professional and working her way up to supervisor and management roles. She became senior director of operations at Easterseals Passages in early July following the March merger between Passages Inc. and Easterseals Arc.
Pemberton’s promotion to executive director was announced Oct. 7 to staff and other attendees at Spotlight on the Arts, an event celebrating visual and performing arts programs at Easterseals Passages.
“Rachel has done a tremendous job leading the team at Easterseals Passages,” said Donna K. Elbrecht, Easterseals Arc CEO and president. “I was thrilled to be able to share this news at Spotlight on the Arts so that staff, consumers and their families could share the moment.”
Since the merger, Easterseals Passages has added behavior consulting services; expanded employment services, including the launch of an Employment Readiness Academy at Whitley County Family YMCA; and increased the variety of activities at the Creative Learning Center with the addition of karate and ballroom dance classes.
“I am really looking forward to our future and the endless possibilities of helping our participants reach their goals,” Pemberton said. “Easterseals Passages can help shape the future of quality services for people with disabilities in Whitley County for many years to come.”
