Magee-O’Connor Foundation Grant Supports Employment Services

Fort Wayne, Ind. — Easterseals Northeast Indiana is proud to announce it has received a generous $10,000 grant from the Magee-O’Connor Foundation. This funding will directly support the organization’s person-centered employment services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

With this grant, Easterseals Arc will continue advancing its mission to empower people with disabilities by providing tailored support throughout the employment process. A dedicated cross-functional team of employment specialists will work one-on-one with each participant to assess their interests, strengths, and long-term career goals. These specialists will help individuals identify potential barriers to employment, teach essential workplace skills, and provide job placement assistance in community-based settings.

The focus of this program is on individualized success—ensuring that each person secures a job that aligns with their talents and preferences, ultimately leading to greater independence and quality of life.

In addition to working directly with job seekers, Easterseals Arc staff will collaborate with local businesses and community partners to promote inclusive hiring practices. This includes sharing resources and strategies to attract, employ, and retain individuals with disabilities, as well as fostering a culture that values diversity in the workplace.

The support from the Magee-O’Connor Foundation reinforces the importance of inclusive employment and helps create real opportunities for individuals with disabilities to thrive in meaningful careers.
