Succeeding in the Workforce

Being employed in the community is a significant part of independence and contributes to an individual’s confidence, self-esteem and social connections. That’s why Easterseals is committed to helping individuals succeed in the workforce.

About Employment Services

We work directly with local employers to explore their staffing needs and help them understand how Easterseals clients can fill those needs. This creates a dynamic collaboration that benefits both employers and job seekers. For more information, please contact Amanda Milligan at amilligan@esarc.org or at (260) 456-4534 ext. 246

  • Help identifying interests and potential jobs
  • Job coaching

While our goal is to help individuals succeed in long-term employment, opportunities to identify interests and skills while gaining experience may include:

  • Volunteer projects
  • Job shadowing
  • Mentorships
  • Internships
  • Temporary job placements

Workforce Collaboration Program

Workforce Collaboration is a partnership between Easterseals and RepuCare to provide education, employment support and opportunities, and resources to individuals aged 18-64 enrolled in Anthem’s Hoosier Care Connect plan.

Easterseals will educate members on available employment programs and assess their job skills to determine the level of support needed to be employed.

Easterseals will provide pre-employment readiness options to individuals who need additional support and provide employment support to individuals seeking employment.

Extended Services

Extended services are work-related supports that help individuals succeed after they have obtained community employment. Services may include job-specific safety training; training to increase workplace inclusion; training on public transportation; coaching on job-related tasks; facilitation of driver’s education training; and other services to reinforce and stabilize the job placement.

Workplace Assistance

Workplace Assistance provides personal care services and supports during supported employment hours to ensure the health and safety of the individual, therefore helping them retain employment. Examples of workplace assistance include help with meals, hygiene and medication administration.

Ticket to Work

Easterseals Arc is designated as an Employment Network for the Ticket to Work program through the Social Security Administration.
