Easterseals Arc of Northeast Indiana is planning job fairs at two locations to help job seekers in Whitley, Steuben and DeKalb counties connect with opportunities for careers supporting people with disabilities.
Job fair attendees can learn about working for Easterseals and get an on-the-spot interview. The two events will be:
- Noon to 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4 at Easterseals Passages, 333 N. Oak St., Columbia City, IN 46725
- Noon to 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11 at Easterseals RISE, 650 North St., Auburn, IN 46706
Easterseals has a variety of part-time and full-time positions open, primarily for Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to help individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities thrive in their daily lives. DSPs earn $16.20 an hour with weekend shifts paying $19 an hour. Experience is preferred, but not required as extensive training is provided.
“We’re looking for compassionate people who enjoy helping others,” said Martha Walther, chief human resource officer. “Our DSPs provide customized support for the individuals we serve, so a typical workday could include anything from helping people master household skills to assisting with medications to exploring community activities together.”
