FW Health and Education Foundation Supports Assistive Tech | Easterseals Arc of Northeast Indiana

The Fort Wayne Health & Education Foundation has awarded a $2,000 grant to Easterseals Arc of Northeast Indiana. The funds will aid in the purchase of assistive technology devices for about 50 Easterseals Arc consumers.

Each device will be chosen based on individual needs. The technology may include computer hardware and software; health, wellness and personal care devices; communication devices; mobility aids; and sensory devices.

Forms to apply for a device are available to Easterseals Arc consumers, family, staff and nurses. Applications will be approved based upon need, potential benefits, available resources, and affordability.

Assistive technology can help people with disabilities:

  • achieve their goals
  • optimize their independence
  • become better integrated into their community
  •  explore new skills, interests, relationships and experiences
