Fort Wayne, Ind. — The Edward M. and Mary McCrea Wilson Foundation has awarded a grant of $5,000 to Easterseals Arc of Northeast Indiana for assistive technology for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The grant funds will help provide technology such as software and devices for communication, health and wellness, mobility and sensory issues.
Assistive technology helps people with disabilities gain independence; increase self-sufficiency; build social networks; participate in recreational activities; and achieve personal goals, such as succeeding in employment or improving health and wellness.
