About Day Programs

We offer adult day programs at all three of our campus locations with activities and outings oriented toward personal interests. Individuals who are more interested in preparing for employment and higher education may prefer our Transitions program.

Adult Day Center | Fort Wayne

The Adult Day Center at our Easterseals Arc campus organizes participants into groups based on age, desire for community outings and medical needs. This allows us to plan activities, classes and outings that appeal to the interests and needs of the individuals in each group. However, participation is fluid, and individuals can choose to engage in any group or activity.

Many of our outings focus on forming community connections, such as joining classes at the Community Center, libraries, Wellspring, the YMCA and more. Additional outings include area festivals, seasonal activities, plays and movies, and area attractions such as the zoo and conservatory.

We provide a nutritious hot lunch, as well as an afternoon snack, in the Adult Day Center. If a participant has strict dietary restrictions, he or she may be asked to bring a lunch.

Creative Learning Center | Columbia City

The Creative Learning Center at Easterseals Passages offers a variety of programs, including:

  • Spotlight Avenue brings live arts and theater to participants and allows them to put on public performances.
  • Career Connections brings more opportunities to connect participants with employers and new jobs.
  • Art Carts gives everyone the chance to create art freely with guidance and structure with multiple types of materials and project packets.
  • Karate classes teaches participants self defense and self control.

The Learning Center | Angola

The Learning Center at Easterseals RISE offers instruction and leisure activities based on the preferences, abilities and needs of the individual.

We work with clients to develop a selection of class offerings that cover a wide range of topics from math skills to dance to self-advocacy, and we partner with community organizations to coordinate opportunities outside of our facility, such as ice skating classes at Trine University or training service animals at a local animal shelter.
