At Easterseals Northeast Indiana, our goal is to empower every person we serve with the tools, training, and support they need to achieve their career goals and thrive in the workforce.

While our goal is to help individuals succeed in long-term, sustainable employment, we also recognize the importance of exploring interests, developing skills, and building confidence along the way. To support this journey, we offer a variety of opportunities for individuals to identify their strengths and preferences while gaining valuable work experience. These opportunities may include:

  • Volunteer projects, which provide a safe and supportive environment to learn new tasks, practice workplace skills, and contribute to the community.
  • Job shadowing, allowing individuals to observe professionals in various roles, ask questions, and learn firsthand what different careers involve.
  • Mentorships, pairing individuals with experienced mentors who can offer guidance, share knowledge, and provide valuable insights into the world of work.
  • Internships, which offer structured, short-term placements where individuals can gain hands-on experience, develop relevant skills, and build their résumés.
  • Temporary job placements, providing an opportunity to try out different roles, build work experience, and discover what types of work align best with each individual’s interests and abilities.

Through these opportunities, we empower individuals to explore their options, build confidence, and make informed decisions about their future careers—paving the way for long-term employment success.

Workforce Collaboration Program

Workforce Collaboration is a partnership between Easterseals and RepuCare to provide education, employment support and opportunities, and resources to individuals aged 18-64 enrolled in Anthem’s Hoosier Care Connect plan.

Easterseals will educate members on available employment programs and assess their job skills to determine the level of support needed to be employed.

Easterseals will provide pre-employment readiness options to individuals who need additional support and provide employment support to individuals seeking employment.

Services may include job-specific safety training; training to improve workplace integration; training on public transportation; coaching on job-related tasks; facilitation of driver’s education training; and other services to reinforce and stabilize the job placement.
